Outcast Men

But the best was yet to come. I had gotten to know Henry while unsuccessfully searching for my father's poetry, and I now had skills I hadn't had in the beginning. Because of learning to search out poetry for Henry, I was able to go back to the search for father's poetry, and this time, my husband and I were successful. In the files of the University of Chicago newspaper we found a poetry column my father ran, and in that column my father courted my 17 year old mother in poetry, and she answered him in kind.

And for all of it, I could thank Henry. So perhaps Henry and I have done something for each other.
